'“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.’

the Biblical Story.
How do you approach the word of God? Do you dismiss it? Do you decide not to think too much about it? Pick and choose what you want to hear? Wield it as a weapon against others? Or maybe you think it's a weapon God is using against you? Take a look at the notebook below. Before taking her SAT exam,
Taylor Raiola (senior volleyball superstar) found that her thoughts were flooded with lies. So, she wrote down what she was feeling and used the truth of Scripture to combat what she was believing. Notice how she isn't dismissing Scripture, nor is she feeling condemned by it. Rather, she's allowing God's word to speak to her and enter into where she's at.
God, thank you for the freedom we have in the identity you have for us through the work your Son did on the cross. Throughout this week, I pray that we would dive into Your word, and explore the truth that you have placed over us. I pray that we would use Scripture to bring life and speak into our lives, using it as You intended us to. We give this week to you God. We thank You, we praise You, and we love You. Amen.
Which negative thoughts about yourself are you most prone to?
What Scripture is most comforting or empowering to you?
